Lust on Film : Troop Beverly Hills
I might be destorying the credibility of Lust List in the movie review business, but, Troop Beverly Hills was genius for its time [and could be an awesome remake]. In the film, a pre-Bravo TV Beverly Hills Housewife takes you down Rodeo drive and into the "Beverly Hills Hotel" circa 1989.
Shelley Long plays Phyllis Nefler, a shop 'til you drop red head going through a divorce with her lawyer-entrepreneur husband. She decides to deal with it by becoming the leader of the unruly local troop of "Wilderness Girls" with her daugher, Hannah. Her Beverly Hills sensibilities result in a change in the program for the girls in her troop, who are all the children of wealthy socialites, to get them more interested in the program.
Phyllis's unorthodox ways stir concern to fellow leader Velda Plendor, a traditionalist who runs the Culver City "Red Feathers" with her own daughter, Cleo. The two battle it out to become next year's "Poster Troop" with hilarious antics a long the way like learning about wildlife with canary diamonds at Cartier and campfires in a bungalow at the "Beverly Hills Hotel".
Look out for an extermely young Tori Spelling as a "Red Feather" and our favorite maid Shelley Morrison [Will & Grace's Rosario] as Rosa, a maid.
Check out LuStylist to style yourself a la Troop Beverly Hills.
