Adam Levine is the coverlust for September's OUT magazine. In the issue, the Maroon 5 frontman "opens up about his natural exhibitionism [yes, please], why his show trumps Idol, and how parents should react when a kid is queer".
Adam Noah Levine [the Lust List love a cute name] is a born and raised Los Angelino. His original band was Kara's Flowers with a high school best friend which had mild success with the release of an album and an appearance on "Beverly Hills, 90210".
However, it wasn't enough success and the band went on hiatus shortly after that. While on break, Levine and a friend journeyed to New York to study at a small music and performing arts school, Five Towns College. The experience meant exposure to a completely different music scene than the boys were used to and could be described as a "cultural awakening".
Levine soon dropped out of college, formed a new band [Maroon 5, which still included his best friend], and worked as a writers assistant for the television show "Judging Amy". It was during this time that he was writing lyrics about his ex-girlfriend, Jane. Those lyrics became Maroon 5's debut album, "Songs About Jane".
Maroon 5 led to greater success than Kara's Flowers and it wasn't long before Levine was mainstream not only as a musician, but as a writer working with Gym Class Heroes and Natasha Bedingfield, as well as appearing on television for shows like Saturday Night Live. Television also paved the way for more mainstream attention when he became one of three judges on NBC's "The Voice".
Now, Levine is busy touring with Maroon 5 after success with "The Voice" and dating Sports Illustrated swimsuit and Victoria's Secret model, Anne Vyalitsyna.
The spread is definitely not short on lust and the article has some pretty amazing quotes like "the fact that gay marriage isn't legal everywhere at this point is a joke" and "a lot of people don't want their kid to be gay and will fight it at all costs. But I've got news for you - it's a losing fucking battle". Right on Adam!
