Rihanna + British Vogue

One of my favorite Lust Icon's, Rihanna, channels Marilyn Monroe on the cover of British Vogue. The musical sensation gains some lustworthy press while finishing her worldwide tour in Europe. Inside, the article pens her as Bonnie from Bonnie & Clyde and the persona fits the bad girl well.

Video Lust : Rihanna's 'We Found Love'

Lots of controversy over Lust Icon Rihanna's new video "We Found Love", but what else would you expect?

Before the video even debuted, news broke that filming was interrupted by an angry farmer in Ireland. Rihanna was shooting scenes from the video on his farm and he was "outraged" over her public nudity. That's the least of the controversial material. There is plenty of drug references in the video's plot circling around an abusive relationship.

Can You Af-Ford It?

Chanel Iman appears for Wallpaper magazine not only in Tom Ford, but in the style of Tom Ford. How you ask? As only our Lust Icon Tom Ford would want, wreaking of sex appeal.

In an article with Mr. Ford praising the super secrecy surrounding his line every season [exclusive runway shows, no online streams, no online shopping, etc.], "Can You Af-Ford it?" shows his latest women's collection in a fashion spread with Iman following the article. Press is the only way you can see these goods without visiting a Tom Ford store.

Matt Kemp + Flaunt

Talk about a homerun! Flaunt magazine features athlete Matt Kemp in a high fashion spread this month. The article is...charming. A rags to riches story of one of the highest paid players in baseball right now.

Kemp confesses to being a "shopaholic" [spending so much in one month, that he has to restrict himself the next] and reveals his weakness in women [killer shoes, a pretty face, and confidence]. Sounds like Lust Icon Rihanna didn't have to work hard to run the bases this lustable athlete.

David Gandy + Velour

I have not been disappointed with the images that have been filling the newsstands of Model Lust David Gandy. First, we found his cover for Attitude, now we find a cover for Velour Magazine. Great material to get everyone as excited as the Lust List for his new book, David Gandy.

Video Lust : Beyoncé's 'Countdown'

Despite the baby bump, Lust Icon Beyoncé manages to pull of all kinds of sexy for her video, "Countdown".

The video is heavily influenced by 60's pop art featuring Mrs. Carter in an all black ensemble that's an amazing mix of Audrey Hepburn and Michael Jackson. She tip-toes, twirls, and shakes among ballet style dancers [and a marching band] in scenes that remind me of the Gap commercials everyone used to go crazy over. Later she appears in dance studios reminiscent of Flashdance and Fame.

The always fashionable Knowles is also featured in brightly colored button-up blouses and leotards with vibrant nail lacquer and eye makeup [which I'm sure will find it's way onto all of her followers] with a Patricia Field sunhat. But, my favorite scene would have to be the sparkly minidress and retro bob [pictured above] which is rumored to be a reference to her Dreamgirls film.

Leave it to Beyoncé to switch it up and bring a breath of fresh air into the music video scene. Countdown with LuStylist to get the look and lust with your eyes below:

David Gandy + Attitude

In the hype for his new book with Mariano Vivanco, Model Lust David Gandy graces the cover of Attitude magazine. The gorgeous Gandy collaborates with Vivanco, once again, for the annual style issue. Follow my lead and get down to Barnes & Noble to support one of the Lust List's favorites.

Gucci Rain Boot

Now that it's raining, why not splash around in puddles in style. We all know what a big fan I am of Gucci. I've been pondering over how to get my feet into white Hunter boots and I may have found the best of both worlds on Rodeo. The above Gucci boot is available in white exclusively at Gucci boutiques. Decisions, decisions.

Gucci Rubber Boot. $295.

Jon Kortajarena for Jean Paul Gaultier

One of the Lust List's first [and favorite] Model Lusts, Jon Kortajarena has been busy working his signature pout for Jean Paul Gaultier.

We all know and love Kortajarena for his acting in Tom Ford's "A Single Man" and his work with Mr. Ford, H&M, Guess?, V Man, etc. But, his new work with Gaultier is the latest bit of lust for our eyes and noses.

Gucci SS12

Not since Rihanna has red looked so good. Gucci's SS12 finds streaks of red splashed across classic wardrobe staples.

Marc Jacobs New Era Cap

As fate would have it, I stumbled into my Melrose home [Marc by Marc Jacobs] just in time for a new shipment of New Era Caps.

This amazing collaboration with Marc Jacobs is usually sold out, so I had to take advantage of the fresh stock. The cap is available in four different variations; "Paris" [pictured], "New York", and two colors with "MJ". 100% wool. $35.

Marc by Marc Jacobs SS12

GQ is calling it "pantone-enhanced prep" and I couldn't agree more. Marc Jacob's looks for Marc by Marc Jacobs SS12 show is just the right fresh, spring-worthy twist on a classic! Bright colors is probably what you'd expect from a Spring show, but often not what you get.

Tom Ford's 10 Rules of Style

Who better to give advice on style than Lust Icon Tom Ford? While surveying through old issues of Details magazine I found this article from December 2008. Mr. Ford gives advice on suits, grooming, accessories, and my favorite advice on sexuality I've ever read.

1. I don't believe in playing around much with suit cuts. I like a fairly classic shape that gives a man strong shoulders, a fitted waist, and long legs. Classic simplicity always works.

2. Someone who is secure enough to be very present when relating to another person is sexy. In other words, a good listener always lands who he wants.

3. When mixing patterns, don't think about it too much - just throw it together.

4. I hate the trend of short suit jackets. When a man's butt is showing below the bottom of his jacket, I think it makes him look like a female flight attendant from the back - not my idea of sexy.

5. With jewelry, I acutally like bracelets more than anything else, but they have to be small and simple. Cary Grant always wore a simple gold bracelet and his watch, and I think it was very chic.

6. If you're careful not to overuse Botox, then yes, why shouldn't you use it? A little bit of it between the brows can make you look less stern and more approachable. Who needs to frown, anyway?

7. Just like girls need to learn how to be comfortable in heels before they go out in them for the first time, a man should try wearing a suit throughout a normal day. I do most things in a suit - and sometimes even in a tuxedo - and i'm really comfortable in one.

8. When it comes to grooming, keep earwax out of the ears and keep stray hairs and flakes of skin in check and you should be good to go. In the morning, I put ice cubes on my eyes and use a lot of Visine.

9. Time and silence are the most luxurious things today.

10. There's one indulgence every man should try in his lifetime: If you're straight, sleep with a man at least once, and if you're gay, dont' go through life without sleeping with a woman. Either way, you might be surprised at how natural it will feel if you can get past the mind-fuck of stereotypes. In the end, it's just another person that you are relating to in a physical way.

Virgine Magazine's 'Like A Virgin'

The Lust List loves a good fashion spread. Combine that with our Lust Icon Madonna and things can't get any better!

Virgine magazine recently did a tribute spread to the Queen of Pop ["Like A Virgin"], boasting that, "very few icons have had the scope of vision and longevity that Madonna has." Or fashion sense for that matter. The proof is in the pictures that touched on Madonna circa everything from "the Girlie Show" to "Like A Virgin" to "Erotica".

Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary Book

Look into his sole. To commemorate his 20th anniversary in the shoe business, Christian Louboutin and Rizzoli will publish this 304-page self-titled book. Check out this overview from Barnes & Noble:

"An extraordinary monograph created by Christian Louboutin, renowned for his beautifully crafted handmade shoes, in particular his elegantly sexy stilettos. This stunning volume, with a fanciful and intricate pop-up, an elaborate foldout cover, and dramatic still-life photography, evokes the artistry and theatricality of Louboutin's shoe designs.
Celebrated for his vertiginously high stilettos with their signature lacquer-red soles, Louboutin has achieved cult status with celebrities as well as fashionistas. His eclectic and exotic designs, often incorporating feathers, beads, and sequins, are a constant and dramatic presence on the red carpet and in nightclubs and restaurants the world over.
Louboutin's first book, this monograph highlights the extraordinary range of his couture, from his iconic and glamorous creations to his fetishistic pieces, including his collaborations with David Lynch, meant more for the bedroom than the street. New photography captures Louboutin's artistic sensibilities, while an in-depth interview reveals Louboutin's life, travels, and inspirations, presenting a very personal look at the man behind the shoes.
A work of art in itself, with a five-piece foldout binding and a pop-up, Christian Louboutin is an enticing and revelatory look at the most important luxury shoe designer of our day.
The book is divided into six chapters. The first chapter covers Louboutin's biography, his start as a designer from his work for Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent to his first boutique in 1992, and his early creations and influences illustrated with many never-seen-before photos from his personal archives; chapter two features the Louboutin boutiques around the world showcasing the varied and extravagant interior designs and displays; chapter three is "20 years of design" and highlights his shoe designs from over the years with all-new still-life photography, as well as editorial art; chapter four features the spectacular interiors of Louboutin's homes in Paris and Luxor, Egypt, and behind-the-scenes shots from his studios and workshops; chapter five focuses on his creative collaborations with David Lynch, of a series called "Fetish," of limited-edition shoes by Louboutin and limited-edition photos by Lynch; chapter six is a complete catalogue raisonne of his work, with photos of all 120 shoe designs."

So, throw on your red soles and march down to your local Barnes & Noble on October 25. Or, you can just wear your stiletto's to the mailbox and pre-order your copy here.

Christian Louboutin + Bella Freud

For those who lust for Christian Louboutin, you no longer have to limit your options to bags and shoes. The designer has teamed up with Bella Freud for three exclusive sweaters available at Net-A-Porter.

"Christian Louboutin lends his artistic prowess to Bella Freud's signature coquettish designs with this black merino wool-blend sweater, part of their collaborative 'Fetish' collection. With a chic shoe intarsia designed by Louboutin himself, it's a playful piece that works well when dressed up with leather and chunky accessories."

Jon Kortajarena for V Man

One of the very first Model Lust's [and one of my personal favorites] Jon Kortajarena is giving us new reasons to lust this month. Jon appears in the pages of V Man for their "Archetypes Issue : An Inventory of Masculinity".

Dean and Dan Caten's 10 Rules of Style

The Lust List's favorite twins, Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared, share their "10 Rules of Style".

1. Guys never get proportions right. They're so used to enormous suits that when they try something semi-fitted they get freaked out. You're not meant to do cartwheels in a suit. When you think you have the right size, take one smaller.

2. To change your look, accessorize differently. If you usually wear a white shirt, then add a tie one day, take the tie away the next. Wear a gold watch; wear a different belt.

3. For tuxedos, your shoes have to be brand-new. You should be at your best when wearing a tuxedo - it's the most elegant you should ever be. If your footwear is looking a little less than perfect, it's not acceptable.

4. Take one piece and let it make a statement - it can be an accent of color, or your jacket, or your socks. The rest of your clothes and accessories should play second fiddle. If something talks, the rest walks.

5. We can't stand it when guys have girls' eyebrows.

6. Too much cologne is sickening. It's sexy when you can smell a man only when you get close to him but not when he walks into a room. Sexy is being a little bit reserved - not being too in-your face.

7. We tend to overdress : It's better to be overdressed than underdressed.

8. When shoes get worn in, you don't have to throw them away - just wear them with jeans. When we break in a pair of brogues, they become our jean brogues, they're not suit brogues anymore.

9. Guys don't have a lot of options when it comes to playing with their look. There's too much room for error with jewelry. Instead a guy should work ties [no Disney prints], cuff links, and watches. A man should have a yellow gold watch, a white sporty watch, and an evening watch.

10. During the winter, your coat is the most important item. Invest in an outer piece, because it's the thing you'll wear the most.

French Vogue's 'Escale À L.A.'

The Lust List has spotted the first press for the lustable DSquared Ice Skate Boots. Great news for fans of the boots [We can think of one fan in particular. You know who you are!].

The boots can be found on the pages of French Vogue in the AW11 spread "Escale À L.A". Which means they should be hitting stores soon. Even better news is the double faux "blade" making them practical for icy hot nights on the town.

Performance Lust : Britney Spears' 'I'm A Slave 4 U' for MTV

To know the significance of Britney Spears' "I'm A Slave 4 U" is to know Britney Spears before the media sensation that attempted to overshadow her career. Prior to "I'm A Slave 4 U" the world only knew Britney as the sweet, bubble gum pop, girl next door. "I'm A Slave 4 U" was what some call a musical attempt to leave that image behind and embrace a spot on the sticky dance floor for the twenty-one and older.

Written and produced by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of the Neptunes, "I'm A Slave 4 U" appeared on Spears' third studio album, Britney. Afer reading the lyrics for the first time, Spears said it was, "about me just wanting to go out and forget who I am and dance and have a good time. That's kinda where I am right now. I love working, but at the same time, I love having a good time." [The Lust List loves when Britney plays coy!]

Some two weeks before it's official release, Spears debuted the song at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. Tan, sticky, bejeweled, and wearing an embellished barely-there-outift, she commanded the stage telling the audience, "all you people look at me like I'm a little girl". By far, not her most provocative appearance for MTV, but definitely one of her best.

The performance included an actual white tiger and a Burmese Python entangled on her shoulders when she asked, "don't you wanna dance with me?". The snake-clad Spears has become one of her most iconic images and some called it a play on the Garden of Eden and "the Last Temptation".

Just one of the many performances that established Britney Spears as a legend. Lust with your eyes below and slither over to LuStylist to get the look.

Amy Winehouse by Hedi Slimane

I thought it would be a good idea for the Lust List to wait for all of the publicity to pass following Amy Winehouse's death to celebrate her music. The tragic death of Winehouse has ironically led to continued success for the artist, her album sales leaped into the Top 10 following her death. Rightfully so that the world remember such an enormous talent.

There was an article featured in Vogue Hommes International, published before the stars death, titled "Mythologies" in which the famous interviewed or shared stories of the famous. Hedi Slimane covered Amy Winehouse. Slimane, for those not familiar with the name, is a French fashion designer famous for his work with Dior Homme and his photographic work with musicians and supermodels like Winehouse [the image used above] and Kate Moss.

You can check out the article below and you should definitely take the time to enjoy her songs. Songs like "Valerie", "Back to Black", or "He Can Only Hold Her" [my favorites].

Amy Winehouse by Hedi Slimane

"There are two types of musician: those who invent a stage persona for themselves, and those whose lives are a stage. I met Amy in Spain in summer 2007. She started by teaching me to play poker. I photographed her. She would strike poses like a glamour model, which rather wrong-footed me. She was not yet being hounded in Barcelona or London. But you already got the impression that she was just putting up with her talent, enduring it, and that her songs or stage appearances were for Blake Fielder's eyes only. Her global success is secondary. Amy has always sounded just right. I've always been moved by her charisma, honesty, and fragility. Sometimes she can lash out or get into trouble, and she carries her genius and loneliness around, listlessly. But she's untouchable. That's who she is: Amy Winehouse."

Model Lust : Vince Azzopardi

Sometimes the models take backseat to the clothes and unless you can reach super stardom like Model Lust David Gandy, it isn't always easy to find info on the models. Clothes aren't taking a backseat when you've got a body like Model Lust Vince Azzopardi, and it's the duty of the Lust List to spread the word on the models.

Vincent Alexander Arrigo Azzopardi II is a "shy guy" from Derby, England. He says that he doesn't like to attract attention, but I'm guessing it happens without him trying. His modeling career started at 18 when he was photographed for Burton College.

Video Lust : Tom Ford's SS11 Women's Collection

Another one of my favorite videos with our Lust Icon Tom Ford! Not just for Mr. Ford, but for his genius behind the collection and the presentation.

SS11 was the first collection for Ford's womenswear line. The fashion world was in anticipation to see the glamorous looks that he would unveil. But, rather than a huge production during fashion week like his competitors [if you could call them that], in true rebel style Ford presented the collection by invitation only at a top secret showing. No cameras, or even cell phones, were permitted at the showing. Instead, Ford would debut the collection to the world via this short film, and with photographs from the event by Terry Richardson which were later featured in a French Vogue exclusive.

Of course, Ms. Wintour was front row with models like Karen Elson, Amber Valeta, and Coco Rocha walking the runway with celebrities Beyoncé, Lauren Hutton, Lou Doillon, Daphne Guinness, and the amazing Julianne Moore.

Lust with your eyes below.

Tom Ford Is Missing

The year was 2006 and Tom Ford had been missing from the world of fashion after departing from his position as Creative Director at the Gucci house two years prior. Director Cyril Guyot cast famous models like Elise Crombez, Sharlom Harlow, and Karen Elson to appear in her ultra glamorous short film, "Tom Ford is Missing". A 1920's spin on the Lust Icons whereabouts during his hiatus. Don't ever leave us again Mr. Ford.

Lust with your eyes below, and then channel some 1920's glam with LuStylist!

The Ford Face

The September Issue of Vogue found me in complete lust over Lust Icon Tom Ford once again [does it ever stop though?]. The magazine featured an article on Mr. Ford to promote his entire cosmetics line that debuts this October.

Mr. Ford gives readers his "Ten Commandments of Makeup". I know nothing about makeup, but I learned a lot and more about Mr. Ford. Check them out, shared with us by Vogue writer Plum Sykes.

"1. You Don't Need Any Sleep to Look Radiant - If You Have Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick and Finishing Powder on Hand.

The morning I go to meet Ford at his glitzy London HQ, he has had two hours' sleep the night before. He has terrible insomnia. However, in his immaculate black suit, white shirt, and black tie, he looks crisp and fresh. I would like to know his secret, I tell him.

'Powder under the eyes,' he declares authoritatively. 'The only thing making you have bags is the light hitting the high points of the skin. If there is translucent powder under your eyes,' he says - grabbing a gorgeous glossy brown-and-gold compact and looking in the mirror, dusting finishing powder under each eye - 'and you use a little stick foundation, and then powder in moderation, the shadows are gone.'

Louis Vuitton Raindrop Besace 'Trash' Bag

I've been tearing through about four years of Elle magazine's this week in an attempt to consolidate them into image books. I came across a spread from about a year ago that featured this Louis Vuitton handbag [from the SS10 Collection] and took a trip down memory lane to learn more.

It seems the fashion world wasn't such a big fan of the Vuitton "Raindrop Besace" bag. A lot of opinions on the world wide web found this nearly two-thousand dollar [patent leather lambskin] bag ridiculous. Marc Jacobs and the Vuitton creative team called it a utilitarian rain bag. It features leather handles, pull ties, a vintage Vuitton logo printed on the side, and was available in two colors.

If you ask me the bag was genius. Not only did it get people talking, but what's more "boss" than considering a two-thousand dollar bag trash? I suppose not much would have been able to compete with the "Monogram Chece Bohemian" bag anyways [that was the amazing dip-dye bag always featured with that incredible fox tail].

Video Lust : Lady Gaga's 'Yoü and I'

The Lust List is suddenly a big fan of teal. Lady Gaga's "Yoü and I" is the fourth single from Born This Way and what some call a return to the video style that established the teal-haired Lady Gaga as a musical genius.

The song itself was inspired by Gaga's relationship with rumored on-again-off-again boyfriend Lüc Carl, and the video symbolizes that exact idea of relationships. In the video, Gaga walks from New York City to Nebraska [actual location of the video] to get her boyfriend back. According to Gaga: "I'm walking with no luggage and no nothing and it's just me and my ankles are bleeding a little bit and there's grass stuck in my shoes and I've got this outfit on and it's real sort of New York clothing and I'm sprinting... And the [video is about the] idea that when you're away from someone you love, it's torture," she continued. "I knew I wanted the video to be about me sprinting back and walking hundreds of thousands of miles to get him back."

Lüc Carl does not appear in the video, instead Gaga's love interest is played by herself. Or rather, her alternate male ego "Jo Calderone". Along with Calderone, her other mermaid alter ego, "Yuyi", appears alongside actor Taylor Kinney in what's reffered to as sexual intercourse scenes. But how can a man have sex with a mermaid? Gaga explained that metaphorically it emphasized the fact that sometimes relationships did not work. "No matter what you do, there's this giant boundary between you and someone else. So that's what it's about, perceiving in your imagination that there's something magical inside of you that you can make it work."

Ice cream trucks [which accroding Gaga represent the destruction of her youth], dancing in fetish attire inside a hay barn [and submerged in a tank], torture scenes with a mad scientist, a grey haired Gaga as a bride, and corn field scenes with Queen guitarist Brian May [the song samples the bands "We Will Rock You"] all make up lustable visual delight as only Gaga can do.

Rolling Stone explains, "the best moments of the video put a distinctly Gaga-ish spin on the iconography of Americana and traditional love stories."

Lust with your eyes below. Make a splash with LuStylist as Yuyi!

Missoni for Target

If you can't tell by both of my blogs, I have an obsession with prints right now. Particularly, the zig zag print [shown on LuStylist]. Who does prints better than Italian fashion house Missoni? I have been a big fan of the brand ever since Wallpaper magazine pressed a men's Missoni thermal pant two winters ago. Sadly, I never found them, even at the Missoni store on Rodeo, but I am going to find lots of Missoni very soon.

Target is doing another famous collaboration. This time with Missoni! I know the Lust List has extravagant taste, but I love Target for household goods. Which is the department I am most looking forward to in the new collaboration. Check out this press release from Target:

"Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) is partnering with Missoni, the iconic knitwear empire recognized as a symbol of Italian luxury, to introduce an affordable, limited-edition collection for fashion and home. Missoni for Target brings a rich heritage of signature prints and patterns to apparel and accessories for women, men, girls and baby, as well as home furnishings. Ranging in price from $2.99 to $599.99, with most items less than $40, Missoni for Target will be available Sept. 13 through Oct. 22, 2011 at all Target stores and Target.com. Pending availability, select pieces from the collection, including a variety of online-only items, will be available for an extended run through early December at Target.com.
'Working with Target to create a mass collection that reflects the spirit of Missoni has been extremely energizing,' said Angela Missoni. 'Each piece is special to me because so much thought and care went into every aspect of the design. I can’t wait to introduce the collection to Target’s guests across the United States.'
Target’s largest limited-time designer collection to date, Missoni for Target reflects the Missoni values of family, color and quality. Offering a modern, fresh take on the late 1960s, an era during which the Missoni brand flourished into a global force in fashion, the collection features intertwining textures and patterns in a variety of bold colors such as purple, blue, black and coral.
'Target’s designer partnerships continue to set new standards, and we worked closely with Missoni to create a collection that brings the allure of their iconic Italian brand to our guests at remarkable prices,' said Kathee Tesija, executive vice president of merchandising, Target. 'The quality and design of Missoni for Target are exceptional, and with more than 400 colorful pieces to choose from, our guests can experience a taste of ‘la dolce vita’ simply by shopping at Target.'
Missoni for Target includes knit dresses, sweaters, swimwear, shoes, scarves and intimates for women, as well as beauty items such as cosmetic cases, brush sets and hair accessories. The men’s collection features silk ties, sweaters, scarves and knit hats, while the girls’ and baby assortments include knit dresses, cardigans, scarves, gloves and rain boots. The expansive home collection offers bedding, luggage, dinnerware, stationery, bicycles and outdoor furniture in variations of stripes, zigzags and abstract floral patterns, and marks the first time Missoni has created iPad and iPod covers."

Christian Louboutin Daffodile Brodee

This one's for the ladies! They've seen the pages of Vogue's September Issue, but the Christian Louboutin Daffodile Brodee isn't available just yet. Similar to a past favorite [Ecotrash anyone?] this Louboutin collage of a 160 mm platform is satin embellished with everything from sequins to crystals to chains to bows. Be on the lookout for this piece of lust, uh I mean art. $2,995.

Lust Icon : Kate Moss

The Lust List continues its celebration of all things September Issue with the mother of all September Issue's, Vogue. For 2011, Kate Moss celebrates not only her recent wedding to rocker Jamie Hince, but yet another cover for the publication. Besides having Mario Testino as her wedding photographer, and Vogue as a sort of "wedding album", there is plenty of glamour that makes this cover girl a Lust Icon.

Moss was born in Croydon, London, in 1974. Her mother, a bar maid, and her father, a travel agent, separated when she was thirteen. As the cliche goes, separated parents meant trouble in school. Moss definitely struggled with academics, but excelled at athletics [and beauty].

A year later, at fourteen, Moss was discovered by Sarah Doukas of Storm Model Management [one of the world's leading agencies, based in London]. She was returning from holiday in the Bahamas when Doukas spotted her at JFK Airport in New York.

Model Lust : Max Rogers

The Lust List fans have taken to Twitter to bring some Model Lust material to our attention. I've been a fan of Max Rogers since that warm spring day in 2008 when I saw him on the cover of GQ Style with the headline "This is Max, He is Naked". Rightfully so that the Lust List inducts him into Model Lust fame.

I've used images from Max's spread [no pun intended] in GQ Style. The photographs were accompanied in the issue with an article by Lust Icon Tom Ford. The article was a sort of retaliation against the taboo that is male nudity in the industry. I can't think of a better body of evidence to argue Mr. Ford's case with. Or any other body of evidence with such an amazing head of hair.

DSquared Sexy Biker Pants

I've yet to find my corduroy DSquared pants we saw on Pure Lust Shia LeBouf, but I did stumble across these bad ass leather biker pants from our boys Dean and Dan on SSense. Yep, real distressed skinny fit embellished leather.

Tight fit skinny low rise leather pants in faded black. Angled exposed zip pockets and press stud flap pocket at front with patch pockets at rear. Press stud tabs and pull tab at back waist. Stretch-rib panels at hips and inner legs with biker panels at knees. Exposed zip detail at outer ankles. Allover yellowed sanding with tone on tone stitching. $1,725.

Pure Lust : Adam Levine

Adam Levine is the coverlust for September's OUT magazine. In the issue, the Maroon 5 frontman "opens up about his natural exhibitionism [yes, please], why his show trumps Idol, and how parents should react when a kid is queer".

Adam Noah Levine [the Lust List love a cute name] is a born and raised Los Angelino. His original band was Kara's Flowers with a high school best friend which had mild success with the release of an album and an appearance on "Beverly Hills, 90210".

However, it wasn't enough success and the band went on hiatus shortly after that. While on break, Levine and a friend journeyed to New York to study at a small music and performing arts school, Five Towns College. The experience meant exposure to a completely different music scene than the boys were used to and could be described as a "cultural awakening".

Levine soon dropped out of college, formed a new band [Maroon 5, which still included his best friend], and worked as a writers assistant for the television show "Judging Amy". It was during this time that he was writing lyrics about his ex-girlfriend, Jane. Those lyrics became Maroon 5's debut album, "Songs About Jane".

Maroon 5 led to greater success than Kara's Flowers and it wasn't long before Levine was mainstream not only as a musician, but as a writer working with Gym Class Heroes and Natasha Bedingfield, as well as appearing on television for shows like Saturday Night Live. Television also paved the way for more mainstream attention when he became one of three judges on NBC's "The Voice".

Now, Levine is busy touring with Maroon 5 after success with "The Voice" and dating Sports Illustrated swimsuit and Victoria's Secret model, Anne Vyalitsyna.

The spread is definitely not short on lust and the article has some pretty amazing quotes like "the fact that gay marriage isn't legal everywhere at this point is a joke" and "a lot of people don't want their kid to be gay and will fight it at all costs. But I've got news for you - it's a losing fucking battle". Right on Adam!

Inside the Kardashian's Closets

September's InStyle magazine takes us inside the closets of all three Kardashian sisters to promote their new line for Sears. Khloe, Kim, and Kourtney all share a pretty amazing collection of threads, shoes, bags, and jewelry.

Kim has an impressive collection of nine Birkin bags, a vintage mink coat that belonged to her grandmother, and 318 pairs of shoes [63 of them Christian Louboutin's]. But Khloe takes the medal for "Louboutin Lover" with 71 pairs! Talk about a luxury high heel fetish!

Moment of Lust : Mark Sanchez

The Lust List enjoys a good football game from time to time, more for the athletes than the actual game. While we're on the subject of GQ's September Issue, check out coverlust Mark Sanchez. I'm a sucker for a football jock in the tub.

GQ's 'Tell'

To quote Candy Pratts-Price, "September is the January of fashion". Although fiscally, it's still August, all the September issues of Lust List's favorite magazines are hitting the newsstands with Fall Fashion Previews. I was flipping the pages of the newest GQ and came across something better than fashion.

Chris Heath, a contributor for GQ, was asked to interview dozens of gay servicemen from the past and present to find out what life has been like in their military career as the American government ends the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. The article is long and very touching. There are so many different stories, opinions, and survival tales. The issue has yet to hit GQ online, but I've shared a few of my favorite stories below.

Video Lust : Madonna's 'What it Feels Like for a Girl'

Lust Icon Madonna's third and final single from the album, Music, was "What It Feels Like For A Girl". The song describes the pressure women feel to conform to social norms of "politeness and subservience".

The music video that eventually followed is not in fact the actual single, but a trance remix by Above & Beyond. This remix only contains a sampling of the original lyrics, including the opening line "Girls can wear jeans and cut their hair short, wear shirts and boots. It's okay to be a boy. But, for a boy to look like a girl is degrading, because you think that being a girl is degrading. But, secretly, you'd love to know what it's like, wouldn't you? What it feels like for a girl."

It was mostly popularized by this music video which was directed by Madonna's then husband, Guy Ritchie. Her depiction of violence and abuse for the music video caused it to be banned by both MTV and VH1 before 9PM. In it, Madonna suits up in bullet proof vesting, picks up an elderly women from a retirement home, and causes violence and chaos on the streets of Los Angeles [including grand theft auto, setting a gas station on fire, and shooting a police officer with a water gun]. You'll have to see what finally happens for yourself.

Madonna responded to the controversy saying that her character was acting out a "fantasy and doing things that girls are not allowed to do". The decision to ban the video was in itself controversial, since it appeared to be no more violent than some television shows that aired at the time. Ironically, the video went into heavy rotation on "Oxygen" and was streamed on "America Online" frequently.

Video Lust : Madonna's 'Music'

Don't mess with Madonna. "Music" was the first single, released in 2000, from Lust Icon Madonna's eigth studio album, Music, and from what I understand her first single to leak before it's release.

An unauthorized copy of the song leaked onto the internet and spread like wildfire through various forums and Napster [remember that?]. To counteract the trend of pirating music, Madonna actively campaigned with other well known artists [like Dr. Dre] against Napster. She eventually performed the song as a live webcast and took over the internet reaching a record nine million people around the world. Take that Napster!

Eventually, it was officially released and a commerical success for Madonna. "Music" became her first single to reach number one in the United States since 1994's "Take A Bow".

The video is a comedic tribute to the decadance and bling of rap videos during that time. Long before Jay-Z and Kanye West were wearing Maison Martin Margiela, rap videos used to have matching sweatsuits, champagne, and booty shakers. Sadly, some of them still do.

Sacha Baron Cohen stars as "Ali G", her limousine driver for the video. He drives Madonna and her friends to the clubs [including a strip club] while they sip champagne and words like "Acid", "Crazy", and "Rock" flash on the screen. You can also see actress Debi Mazar in one of her more prominent cameos [she has appeared in multiple Madonna videos].

Video Lust : Madonna's 'Human Nature'

"Human Nature" was the fourth and final single from Lust Icon Madonna's sixth studio album, Bedtime Stories. The song proves true to the theory that the best music is written from personal experiences.

"Human Nature" was written in response to public backlash from Madonna's previous album, Erotica, and her coffee table book, Sex. Lyrically, she sarcastically asks rhetorical questions based on actual encounters. "Did I say something wrong? Oops! I didn't know I couldn't talk about sex. What was I thinking?". It also repeats one of my favorite Madonna theories "express yourself, don't repress yourself" multiple times.

The music video for "Human Nature" continues on these themes and was heavily inspired by comic artist, Eric Stanton. Madonna explains, "Mondino [the Director] found this book by this illustrator named Stanton who did kinda S&M drawings and stuff, but we didn't want to go with the straight S&M; we wanted to have it be more about making fun of it".

For the first time, Madonna teamed up with choreographer Jamie King [who has choreographed and directed her last four tours] to dance, whip, and punch in latex and leather. She even had leather strips braided into her hair. The costumes for the video are said to represent the "constraints of society". Even her dog at the time, Chiquita, suited up to express herself.

Performance Lust : Madonna's 'Vogue' for MTV

Probably one of the most successful songs ever from a soundtrack album, "Vogue" is from Lust Icon Madonna's I'm Breathless album which is music from and inspired by the movie "Dick Tracy". However, the background on the song doesn't seem to be inspired by the film at all.

Lyrically, Madonna was inspired by vogue dancer and choreographers Jose and Luis Xtravaganza from the Harlem "House Ball" community, the origin of the dance Vogue. They introduced "Vogueing" to her at the New York City club "Sound Factory". Prior to the singles release of the song, Vogue was only performed in bars and disco of New York City in the underground gay scene. Madonna made it mainstream.

One would venture to guess that Madonna did find inspiration from "Vogue" from the movie based on the role call of old Hollywood glamour about midway through the song. The music video also depicts the material girl in a style similar to her character in the film, "Breathless Mahoney".

The success of "Vogue" not only boosted sales of the I'm Breathless soundtrack, it also generated massive publicity for the movie "Dick Tracy".

In 1990, Madonna once again made headlines on MTV at the Video Music Awards. She performed "Vogue" with several dancers in 18th-Century French costume a la Marie Antionette. Her costume was actually originally worn by Michelle Pfeiffer in the film, "Dangerous Liaisons". During the performance, Madonna and her dancers did more than flash undergarments. She not only pushed the faces of two male dancers into her breasts, she actually had one of them fondle her breasts on stage.

Video Lust : Madonna's 'Express Yourself'

"Express Yourself" is Lust Icon Madonna's second single from the Like A Prayer album. The queen of reinvention flips the script on us. The opening lines of the song take us in the complete opposite direction of "Material Girl" in which she sings, "you don't need diamond rings or eighteen karat gold".

In fact, the main inspiration behind "Express Yourself" is female empowerment, urging women never to "go for second-best" and to put their love "to the test". We all dig the guy with satin sheets, but what happens when you're not in his bed?

Madonna tells Rolling Stone, "the ultimate thing behind the song is that if you don't express yourself, if you don't say what you want, then you're not going to get it. And in effect you are chained down by your inability to say what you feel or go after what you want. No matter how in control you think are about sexuality in a relationship there is always the power struggle...always a certain amount of compromise. Of being beholden, if you love them. You do it because you choose to. No one put the chain around this neck but me. I wrote 'Express Yourself' to tell women around the world that pick and choose the best for yourself, before that chain around your neck, kills you instead. Its my take on how man can express what they want, the same prerogative should be there for a woman too."

The video is set in a dark and busy metropolis where muscular men work in the steam and rain. Madonna appears as a lonely but strong figure of beauty and grace in double-breasted suits, silk nightgowns, nude corsets, and nothing at all. One analysis explains that Madonna is shown in a seductive manner and chained to her bed not to portray women in an empowering position, but rather to emphasize the fact that women can be in control because of their sexual prowess.

Video Lust : Madonna's 'Material Girl'

The Lust List doesn't find comfort in all the beautiful Model Lust's we frequently celebrate, the Lust List lives in a material world.

"Material Girl" was the second single from Lust Icon Madonna's second album, Like A Virgin. The lyrics identify with materialism, with Madonna asking for a rich and affluent life, rather than romance and relationships. Contemporary and old critics have frequently noted "Material Girl" and "Like a Virgin" as the songs that made Madonna an icon.

The "Material Girl" video pays homage to one of Madonna's icons, Marilyn Monroe, and her performance of the song "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" from the 1953 film "Gentleman Prefer Blondes". In fact, it was this video that caused Madonna to beign to accept and utilize herself being compared to Monroe. However, she established a safe distance from those comparisons. Madonna explains, "Well, my favorite scene in all of Monroe's movies is when she does that dance sequence for 'Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend'. And when it came time to do the video for the song, I said, I can just redo that whole scene and it will be perfect...Marilyn was made into something not human in a way, and I can relate to that. Her sexuality was something everyone was obsessed with and that I can relate to. And there were certain things about her vulnerability that I'm curious about and attracted to."

Madonna dances and sings the song, while she is showered with cash, expensive jewellery and furs, and is carried men over stairs perfecting sex kitten pouts while batting her lashes. Lust with your eyes below and shop the material world with LuStylist.
